Event Schedule

This session focuses on creating the right business environment for investors in Central Asia. It sheds light on ongoing and planned energy market reforms in the CAREC countries and how policy and market barriers are planned to be reduced. Energy Ministers from the region will personally communicate their reform agendas to the audience and outline how these will affect investors. Key investment projects planned in the coming years will also form part of the discussion.

This session will discuss how to create a business case for private investments in areas such as renewable energy and energy efficiency and identify what the missing ingredients are to make a business case in Central Asia. It will also address what cities and local communities can do to attract investments in clean energy and which investments are needed to create livable spaces.

ADB will present CAREC’s first start-up competition that was held in the run-up to the Forum. The selected finalists will do a TED-Talk Style presentation on their business ideas and the audience will vote for a winner.

This session aims at providing hands-on advice on local business practices and criteria to consider before investing in Central Asia. Chambers of Commerce from the region as well as Foreign Chambers of Commerce will give practical advice on frequently asked questions of new and established investors. Successful businesses in Central Asia who have been through the journey will share their experience with the audience.
