Ms. Elisabeth Duban

International Gender Expert

Elisabeth Duban is a lawyer specializing in gender issues and human rights.  She worked as a legal specialist on gender justice projects for a number of years in Russia. Her current work, as an independent consultant, involves gender analysis and gender mainstreaming related to international development. Elisabeth has conducted several country gender assessments for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Central Asia. The country gender assessments cover a broad range of topics that reflect the ADB portfolio, including labour and employment, entrepreneurship, energy, transport, water supply and sanitation. Elisabeth has completed country gender assessments that address gender, agriculture and rural livelihoods for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Office in Europe and Central Asia. On a consultancy basis, she has also worked for the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe, the Council of Europe and UN Women’s Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, on research and analytical projects related to gender equality.
