On 20 September 2019, the first CAREC Energy Ministers Dialogue took place in Tashkent. The historic gathering was attended by Energy Ministers from the CAREC region and the Turkish Energy Minister, H.E. Fatih Dönmez, who joined the discussion as a non-regional member. Representatives from the CAREC Development Partners also took part. The Energy Ministers signed a declaration in which they endorsed the CAREC Energy Strategy 2030 and committed to increasing the share of renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, launching energy sector reforms and fostering gender equity in the energy sector.
