Mr. Farhad Taghizadeh-Hesary

Associate Professor of Economics, Tokai University, Japan

Dr. Farhad Taghizadeh-Hesary is an associate professor of economics at Tokai University and a visiting professor at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, he is a vice-president and co-founder of the International Society for Energy Transition Studies (ISETS) based in Australia. Presently he is also a visiting professor at Chiang Mai University (Thailand) and a distinguished research fellow at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). He is a grantee of the Excellent Young Researcher (LEADER) status from the Ministry of Education of Japan. Dr. Taghizadeh-Hesary was a visiting scholar, visiting professor, and visiting fellow at several institutions and universities such as the Institute of Energy Economics of Japan, The University of Tokyo (Japan), and Griffith University (Australia)

Dr. Taghizadeh-Hesary has published a wide range of topics, including energy economics, energy policy, green finance, small and medium-sized enterprises finance, monetary policy, banking, Asian and Japanese economy. Currently, he is serving as Associate Editor/Board member of several scientific journals, including Singapore Economic Review (SSCI), Frontiers in Energy Research (SCIE); Global Finance Journal (ESCI); Energy Efficiency (SSCI, SCIE); and Editor of Cogent Business & Management (ESCI).

He has guest-edited special issues for prestigious scientific journals, including Energy Policy, Energy Economics, Resources Policy, Finance Research Letters, Economic Analysis and Policy, Journal of Environmental Management, Climate Change Economics. His research credits include authoring more than 200 academic journal papers and book chapters and editing 15 books published by Springer Nature, Routledge, World Scientific, and the Asian Development Bank Institute.

Dr. Taghizadeh-Hesary led, managed, and has been involved in dozens of research, capacity building and training and consulting projects on energy, economic, and financial related topics for international organizations and financial institutions, and governments of various countries.

He holds a Ph.D. degree in economics from Keio University with a scholarship from the government of Japan (MEXT).
