Mr. Samir Valiyev

He was born in Baku in 1962. He graduated with a specialization in International Economic Relations and English Translator from Kyiv State University in 1984.

He was engaged in pedagogical activities in Azerbaijan State Economic University during the period of 1984-1992.

He has taken managerial positions at the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of State Property, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, and the Ministry of Economy during 1992-2017.

He has been serving as Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2017.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan awarded him the medal “For Merits in Civil Service” on October 21, 2014

He is a Candidate of Economic Sciences.

He is fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.

He is married and has two children.
