Mr. Jeswynn Yogaratnam LLB (Hons) LLM (Tax)

Jeswynn is the Head of Policy Reform at Global Buildings Performance Network (GBPN) based at Monash University. His focus areas include the energy and infrastructure sectors within SEA and India . He stewards policy development projects applying a people-centred approach for decarbonisation of the built environment. He works with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders for future-ready building policies to achieve net zero emission goals with just transition, socio-economic impact and nature based solutions in mind. Jeswynn’s expertise includes managing cross-functional tasks within regulatory and policy ecosystems of the public sector, industry and civil society organisations. He has been advising on unmet legal policy needs for climate resilient cities, low carbon affordable housing projects and net zero emission roadmaps for the buildings sector in SEA. His architectural design with GBPN’s Indonesia team on a stakeholder policy engagement platform called ‘HIDUP’ was recently acknowledged by UNOPS as best practice. His extensive background in law portfolios and legal research include intersectional issues on social impact themes within International Human Rights Law, Corporations Law, First Nations self-determination, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion; and Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change.
